As the season begins, I want to share some significant updates about our training venues. Last season, we faced major issues with our court allocations, especially on courts one and two. These courts had debris from overhanging trees and poor lighting, which unfortunately led to several injuries among our players at Mayfield Netball Club.
Understanding the challenges we faced last year, we have eagerly awaited news about our new court allocations. I’m excited to announce that as of March 26th, our training will now take place on courts 26-30. This change is a relief as these courts were selected with safety as a priority. I genuinely believe this will lead to a safer and more enjoyable training experience.
The new courts come with several advantages.
Location: They are conveniently situated near parking areas. This makes it easy for players to arrive and get ready without the added stress of seeking out distant parking spots.
Accessibility and facilities: While these courts are easily accessible, it’s important to note they do not have nearby water fountains. The closest toilets are a 2-5 minute walk to the clubhouse, so plan accordingly for training nights.
I am eager to see how these new allocations will enhance our training sessions. Moving away from last season's issues can create a more positive experience for our players. Let’s seize this opportunity to unite as a club, enhance our skills on the court, and prioritize safety.
For those who might not be familiar with the area where we will be training, here’s a layout to help you strategize your meet-up plans. This can make it easier to find the courts and ensure everyone arrives without confusion. Remember, if you have any questions about logistics or what to bring to practice, don’t hesitate to ask.
Reflecting on our previous season, it was filled with challenges, but I truly believe we’re on a better path with our new allocations on courts 26-30. Together, we can uphold safety, accessibility, and team spirit as our core values this season. I am excited to see everyone back on the court, ready to improve and compete together!
Here’s to a fantastic season ahead, and I look forward to seeing all of you tonight!
