Recapping Our Tri Series Kickoff: Insights on the First Meeting and What's Ahead for Our Club

On October 5th, we officially launched our Tri Series venture with our first meeting. This event was not just about kicking things off; it laid the groundwork for what we believe will be a game-changing experience for everyone at Mayfield Netball Club.

Participating in these discussions is vital for our club members. They shape our activities and foster an environment where every voice matters. With that in mind, we’d like to share key insights from our kickoff meeting and what we foresee ahead for our club.

Setting the Stage for the Tri Series

Members from all parts of the club came together, eager to share ideas and their passion for netball. It was heartening to see a diverse group of participants, ranging from seasoned players with years of experience to newcomers ready to learn the ropes. Everyone contributed something unique.

The discussion continued into lively discussions on strengthening our teams and organizing engaging events.

Key Highlights from the Meeting

One significant highlight was the formation of committees concentrating on various aspects of the TriSeries. These teams will oversee tasks like event planning and fundraising, ensuring every detail of our series is well-considered and effectively managed. This collaborative approach is essential, as it allows everyone to contribute based on their strengths.

For instance, we will have a dedicated fundraiser convenor aiming to raise $15,000 or $5,000 per Tri Series team to cover uniform and equipment over the next few months. Having specific financial targets helps us stay focused and motivated.

Another important discussion revolved around our training sessions. With TriSeries matches approaching, we must be at our best. We tossed around ideas like inviting guest coaches and creating specialized drills tailored for our upcoming matches. Numerous members shared excellent suggestions, and we are excited to see these come to fruition.

The Importance of Community Engagement

A substantial part of our conversation was focused on amplifying community engagement. We all understand that netball thrives not only on the court but also in the stands. Encouraging our members to involve their families and friends is crucial for building a robust fan base.

One standout idea was to host community events leading up to the TriSeries. These might involve fun activities, showcases, and open training sessions. Inviting locals to join us in these events will help raise awareness about our club and foster a deeper connection with the community.

Future Events and Opportunities

We are particularly excited about the calendar of events we tentatively drafted during our meeting. Various initiatives like training camps were also highlighted as valuable opportunities for members to refine their abilities while promoting camaraderie.

Moreover, to keep our members informed and engaged, we plan to have regular open meetings every 6 weeks throughout the season. These will feature updates on upcoming events, player achievements, and insightful stories about our TriSeries journey. This ensures that everyone feels included in our activities and aware of how they can contribute.
